A volunteering organisation for young people in Congleton

New Skills • New Challenges
New Horizons • New Friends

Congleton Youth Action was established 30 years ago in 1977, enabling young people to develop their skills and knowledge through different practical experiences in the community. Volunteering opportunities include working with people with special needs, the elderly, conservation, fundraising and publicity, the Young Volunteers Management Group, the Tuesday Support Group, and individual projects.

The Congleton District Youth In Action Management Committee consists of representatives from the community, schools and youth organisations. It is self financing, relying on voluntary contributions. However, the part-time Youth Worker post is funded by Cheshire County Council Youth Service. The work is complemented by the involvement of adult volunteers and paid session workers in various projects.
